Unsecured Credit Cards for People with Bad Credit

If you are one of those people who unfortunately has bad credit, you may want to consider an unsecured credit card.  These cards will help re-build your credit but do come with certain fees that you should be aware of.

Application Fee – Most, if not all unsecured credit cards come with a one time application fee which may be $100 or more

Processing Fee – The processing fee which is like an administration fee is also a one time fee that may come with an unsecured credit card

Annual Fee – Annual fees are self explanatory. You pay a set fee every year for the privilege of using the card

Monthly Processing Fee – Although not as common as the other fees stated above, some unsecured credit cards charge a monthly fee for the privilege of using the card. The monthly fee usually ranges from $5 to $15.

What to look for in an unsecured credit card

Because an unsecured credit card is going to cost you a bit more than a regular card, you have to make sure the credit issuer reports to the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion). Remember that the reason that you are getting an unsecured credit card is to build you credit so you would want them to be reporting you good payment history to these credit bureaus.

Although unsecured credit cards for people with bad credit will cost you a little more than a regular credit card, it maybe your only option. Just be sure to pay you bills on time and you will improve your credit score.
